Berlin Science Slam strengthens the collaboration of young scientists

SPARK-BIH, MDC and Bayer hosted the first joint Berlin Science Slam to strengthened local collaboration with short presentations and the exchange of young scientists.

On December 9, the first Berlin Science Slam "Cell and Gene Therapy Meets Bio Revolution" took place, a joint initiative of SPARK-BIH, Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) and Young Bayer. During the online event with a total of more than 50 participants, three young scientists from Charité, MDC and Bayer gave a high-level non-confidential pitch presentation on their projects in the field of cell and gene therapy. Among them was PD. Dr. Antonia Busse from the Charité with her SPARK-BIH funded project on a new innovative TCR T cell immunotherapy against aggressive B cell lymphomas.

Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to network and exchange ideas in separate online breakout rooms on topics such as gene therapy, gene editing and immuno-oncology. The event marks the start of a planned series to further strengthen the exchange and collaboration of young translational scientists in the capital region.
