SPARK-BIH organized a Design Thinking workshop for NeuroCure

The Cluster of Excellence NeuroCure of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin provides a new program, tailored to the needs of early career researchers, who are interested to explore problem-solving tools beyond science and potentially translate their ideas into ‘the real world’.

As part of the NeuroCure program, SPARK-BIH organized a Design Thinking workshop in October 2021. The systematic and agile Design Thinking approach tackles complex problems with a focus on the needs and wishes of the users. Participants from various scientific backgrounds came together in a two-day workshop to use Design Thinking and further develop their medical innovation towards a user-oriented solution. Guided by Design Thinking coaches, the teams were advancing their novel ideas and finally presented their work in an online closing event in front of the NeuroCure community. “Thanks to the Design Thinking approach we were able to explore crucial aspects on the use cases and market of our innovation,” resumes one participant of the workshop. “We took important steps to assess these aspects for our medical solution and hope to elaborate on that with Design Thinking in the future”.
